What is XTRABYTES™?
Website: https://xtrabytes.global/
Non-Technical Whitepaper: https://xtrabytes.global/whitepaper.pdf
XTRABYTES™ is a new platform that does not require any traditional type of mining support, such as: POW or POS. We have created a unique consensus mechanism called Proof of Signature which ensures that 100% of all blocks will be signed by the system when they occur. The blocks are signed by the network of Master Nodes after verifying the transactions in the block. There are a total of 650 million XBY and there will never be more. The XTRABYTES™ system is a shared database storage system that will never break like some systems because we do not rely on miners who could turn their rigs to other coins, leaving the network unable to verify and therefore breaking the blockchain, rendering it useless and thus all clients losing access to their stored files. This can never happen to XTRABYTES™.

Why is there no open-source code?
Borzalom has identified a 100% patent-able section of our tech and we are going to register the patent. Obviously we cannot share any more details about this at this time. But, this is a major moment for the XTRABYTES™ Community and it is very important to also note that the patent owners (Borzalom and CCRevolution) will enable free usage forever of the patent for the XTRABYTES™ Community only. This is designed to protect the XTRABYTES™ Community. It is no secret that we want to prevent a fork, because we do not want to see a bunch of useless altcoins like BTC has. We want to integrate all the developer power into one project and not have the resources split.

So parts of the code will be made public once the patent is granted pending status, and other, proprietary parts, will be audited under an NDA. In the meantime, you can look at the XCITE™ code published on GitHub and you can even see the changes live on Discord:

Is there proof that it works?
The testnet number 3 has now concluded:

https://blog.xtrabytes.global/xtrabytes-news/coordinated-strike-results-february-7th-8th/
There have also been two previous testnets already, and XFUEL™ is already running on the PoSign network as a proof-of-technology. You can even confirm this yourself in a few simple steps by following the guide with all the gathered proof here:

The company XTRABYTES Ltd. was registered on 11th January 2018, you can read more about the business registration here:

Why are the developers anonymous?
https://blog.xtrabytes.global/xtrabytes/xby-community/who-is-behind-xtrabytes/
The developers also actually aren't as anonymous as one might think, you can even join the Discord group and talk to them yourself, and they are even looking for more devs right now.
The new CEO and COO are now public, you can read an interview with them here:

And anyone can go back through the entire history of the project here:

You can look up the company registration here:

Also, from the January AMA:
Q1: How many developers are there on the team? A1: Although the development team prefers to remain anonymous, what we can tell you is that, besides Borzalom, there are three other developers working directly with him on the blockchain core technology. Additionally, there is a small team working on XCITE™ (the front end application), and another team focusing on UI & UX to ensure functionality across desktop and mobile. There are also groups working on the first modules that will run the XBY platform – from the X-VAULT data storage feature, to the X-CHANGE (distributed exchange) module to the X-CHAT system, and others that they haven’t yet announced. This is more than just a new coin – this is a mission to bring this platform to life.
In addition to the actual programming side of our development, we also have many people working on other jobs, such as writing, marketing, social media, graphics, translations, and management. In total, we paid out to over 90 people in our most recent XFUEL™ development payout. So, XTRABYTES™ is growing and we will soon post more positions!

What are STATIC nodes? Can I stake my XBY?
STATIC (Services Transactions and Trusted-in-Control) nodes form the backbone of the XTRABYTES™ network and play a crucial role in the consensus, security, and governance of the platform. STATIC node owners receive transaction fees and service fees for the DApp modules they opt-in to host. Security and PoSign consensus are insured using state-of-the-art encryption hash technology, requiring that every block is signed by the nodes.
Static node owners will collect transaction and module-hosting fees in XBY.
Once mainnet comes online, static node registration will begin, and you will have a chance to register a static node for the XBY network. There will be three levels of nodes available.
Required deposits of STATIC nodes:
Level 1 is: 500,000 XBY or 330,000 XBY + 170,000 XFUEL™
Level 2 is: 250,000 XBY or 170,000 XBY + 80,000 XFUEL™
Level 3 is: 125,000 XBY or 85,000 XBY + 40,000 XFUEL™
For those wondering if prices could get lowered in the future:
Q3: Are there any plans to restructure the prices for statics given the XBY price increase? A3: We have always had a plan in place that will be acted upon when the community decides the price of STATICS is too high. At this time we would not act on this because, after several months of preparation, we believe there are many people who already have a sufficient supply of XBY waiting to set up their STATIC deposits. For now, we know that the general perception in the community is that in time the Level 1 nodes will be corporate level systems, where a large corporation may decide to buy the STATIC from its initial owner. Because even at today’s prices, we are looking at well over $300,000 for a Level 1 STATIC, and in the future, we believe this will be much higher. So, this is out of reach for most people to begin with. With that said, L2 and L3 STATICS will also get too expensive at some point, and the community will decide it is time for a “halving”. When halving occurs, the number of coins will not change, but the amount of STATICS will double. Therefore, we would have 1024 STATICS on Level 1 and they would contain 250,000 XBY in each deposit wallet. The same would occur for the other 2 levels. By doing this, the deposit cost of each STATIC was cut by half and the owners could then choose to either sell one or both STATICS, break one or both STATICS, keep both STATICS on the same server or for optimal results, keep both STATICS but set up a new server for the new STATIC. Halving can occur any time it is necessary as the market expands and coupling is also possible in the future if the market starts to retract and we do not need as many STATICS to run efficiently.

When are you thinking of getting listed on bigger exchanges such as Binance or Bittrex?
Just this week we saw a perfect example of why we are not going on large exchanges at this time. We are still running on the clone chain and this chain is a mess. There are many flaws and we have patched over many things in order to make it work the way we want for the time being. However, what is going to happen if there is an even bigger emergency due to some sort of technical failure on that chain or any other tech failure during this development period and we are on the big exchanges with a multi-billion dollar market cap? This is why we are not willing to go on any big exchanges right now. We must be patient and realize anyone who has been lucky enough to discover XBY at this early stage is in a position to achieve great success as we roll out our full tech as time goes by.

Where do I get the wallet for XBY and/or XFUEL™?
Download from here, note that you CANNOT use an ETH/ERC-20 compatible wallet such as MyEtherWallet, XBY is a completely new coin with it's own chain and not an Ethereum token:
https://xtrabytes.global/wallets
You should always have your private key saved, just in case:
https://support.xtrabytes.global/hc/en-us/articles/360000065752-How-to-export-import-private-keys
In command line:
dumpprivkey youraddress
This will give you directly the private key. Copy and save it safely in different places:

What is XCITE and will there be a mobile wallet?
The XTRABYTES team is also creating a user-friendly, one-stop platform for users named XCITE (XTRABYTES Centralized Interactive TErminal), which will also be available on Android and iOS. Using XCITE, developers and users will be able to access XBY and XFUEL wallets, core modules (like X-CHAT), and various 3rd party DApps all in a full page browser.

But I wanna do more, what else can be done?
Well to start, you can let everyone you know, know about XBY, and invite them to the testnet, you can share this everywhere and promote XBY on social media, you can make TV or YT appearances and just invite people to the testnet, you can reach out to your favorite Crypto Youtubers and celebrities and get them talking about XBY, you can get a XBY tattoo or try to get an XBY sign or wallet address noticed on TV somehow, you can start making and selling XBY shirts and apparel and anything else you can think of.
If you still wish to do more, here is a list of some of the most promising ETH based ICO's that would benefit greatly from the increased network capacity and code agnosticism of XBY, and you can either reach out to them to tell them about XBY, or start preparing to fork the code and port it to the XBY platform yourself, as the DICOM module will make this very simple, especially as early DApp developers will probably be the ones to benefit from XBY the most in the long term:
