Help Me Plan a Poker Road Trip

This summer I'm moving from Chicago to Las Vegas to go live the dream, and I need to take 2 road trips to get our two cars out there. I'd like to stop and play poker each night, but I don't really know what the best places to play poker are, so I'm asking /poker to help out. Things I'm looking for are (obv) a decent poker room with at least 2/5 NL, a hotel attached or at least close by, and hopefully a discount at the hotel for playing a few hours of poker.
Trip 1 will take the northern route.
Day 1 will be Horseshoe in Council Bluffs, IA.
Day 2 I'm thinking I will be near Denver - what's the best place to play here?
Day 3 I should be rolling into Vegas near midnight, so I'm set at this point.
Trip 2 will be taking the southern route.
Day 1 will be in St. Louis - what's the best place to play here?
Day 2 will probably be Oklahoma, where to play here?
Day 3 will be New Mexico, where to play here?
Thanks in advance.

I Made 5 Final Tables and Won WSOPC STL Casino Champ!

Last week while WSOPC was in my home casino near St. Louis, I managed to make 5 final tables and win Casino Champ in an absolutely crazy race. Two separate people won two rings and finished 3rd and 4th in total points. Another won 1 ring, and made two other final tables, and I squeaked it out without an outright win. I cashed 5 events and made the FT in all of them. I finished 2nd, 4th, 4th, 5th and 8th.
I get a $10k seat in the Global Championship at the beginning of next season. Here's a writeup about the series: https://www.wsop.com/news/2019/Aug/11174/AMERISTAR-ST-CHARLES-CIRCUIT---AUG-2019.html

New Counter experiencing some heat

I am new to card counting (about 2 months), and have finally received some "heat" the last couple of times out.
A little backstory - I am in the St. Louis area. I mostly play Double Deck, DOA, Double after split, Dealer hits soft 17, no surrender. Most pen is 60-70%. One casino has the pen at 70-80%, which is awesome, and i have hit that up pretty consistently. My spreads are normally 1-8, or $25-$200. I use the KO Preferred system, and have done rather well, winning various amounts in 14 of the 17 sessions I have played. Sessions range from 1 hour to 5 hours. No mid-shoe entry for DD games, so I cannot "wong in/out". Haven't tried that method with 6-deck yet.
Last week I was playing the DD game at Ameristar maybe 30min in, when I noticed the floor manager go back-to-back with dealer and say "cut short and hand shuffle"....the next shoe, the deck was cut maybe 45-50% pen, enough to where everyone at the table noticed and mentioned something, as well as the hand shuffle. Being new, I know I am now hyper-sensitive to these things, and though maybe I am reading too much into it. I left that game in the "high limit" room and headed out to the floor for a 6 deck game, where the pen is generally 80%. About 20min after playing, a floor manager came to the table I was at and said something to the dealer (I couldn't make it out). The shoe ends, and she cuts the next shoe, and the pen is literally 50%. I ended up walking out questioning if this is all in my head?
Today was a little different, and I think I received my first true "heat" moment. I had played at Hollywood Casino for a few hours yesterday winning about $1k early, then giving it back later when the counts were super high, and losing 3 consecutive $200 bets. I walked in today, bought in for $500, and promptly lost every hand in the first shoe (7 hands I believe), not a good start. The next shoe the count went good, and had $100 out and lost 3 in a row, a quick $400+ gone. The floor manager came and said something to the dealer (again, couldn't make it out) in the middle of the shoe. We ended the shoe, and on the next one the count went good, I increased my bet from $25 to $75 and we played one hand. Right after that hand, the dealer grabs the shoe and ends it. Two other players noticed it and said "What're you doing?", and she said "Sorry, special request". The next show was cut, and I am not joking, literally 40% MAYBE, when normally 75-80%. The floor manager then proceeds to stand directly by my side (I was playing 1st base) for the entirety of the next 2 shoes. I got up and walked out after that.
I know I probably overexposed myself playing too much lately, but it's difficult with limited options in my area. I guess I will have to go when it's super busy instead of during the day, or backcount and Wong in/out on 6-deck shoe games, or simply play shorter sessions and move around more.
Any other counters with similar stories they want to share? Any advice? I feel strangely proud, but at the same time terrified. I don't want to ruin games in the area for myself.

Matt Culberson wins first prize in Heartland Poker Tour

A new tournament in the Heartland Poker Tour concluded this week and this time it was the Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles in St. Charles, Missouri that acted as a gracious host. The land-based casino has attracted a great deal of poker fans, including some that usually participate exclusively in online tournaments. Unibet Poker members found it worthwhile to spend some time away from the virtual tables and sit down at real ones. They bring a wealth of experience from playing over the Internet and it is not surprising that some of them made it to the final table. Among those who brought a healthy stack to this late stage of the competition was Matt Culberson from St. Louis. 393 players pay the buy-in of $1650 for the main event, but only nine of them were still alive when the final table began. Matt was trailing chip leader Matt Cannella by plenty of chips, but he closed the gap separating him by the time the heads-up began. No deal was made and the winner took home almost $130,000, while the runners-up had to settle for less than $80,000. These are the final table results at the Heartland Poker Tour event: 1 Matt Culberson Lake St. Louis, MO $129,1472 Michael Ross Chicago, IL $78,3503 Jeffrey Brin Olathe, KS $52,4664 Ron Amos Quincy, IL $36,5925 Matt Cannella O'Fallon, IL $27,4446 Reginald Roberts Springfield, MO $21,5257 Joshua Turner St. Louis, MO $18,1888 Carl Masters Clarksville, TN $15,0679 Matthew Mueller Columbia, IL $12,915 There were dozens of tournaments scheduled throughout the year by the HPT and while most of them concluded some time ago, the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower is scheduled for November in Las Vegas. [Store Review] x3 St.Louis, Missouri area bra shops. Ann's Bra Shop, Claire de Lune and Sugar Magnolia

There's a TD;LR at the end.
So while I was visiting family in Missouri for Christmas we had a "girls day" where we went bra shopping in St.Louis (and finished up the day by stopping in at the Ameristar casino and playing slots. If you go there I highly recommend eating at their sports bar and ordering the ruben potato skins). We visited three great stores and I'd definitely recommend any one of them, and since they're so close to each other (especially claire de lune and Sugar Magnolia which are literally 15 minutes away from eachother) you really should visit all 3!! Unfortunately because my family lives a few hours outside of st.Louis we didn't really have a ton of time to spend so we skipped getting fitted at all of the locations, but I know for certain that Claire de Lune has an employee that subscribes to ABTF and that Sugar Magnolia doesn't add inches to the band size.
Our first stop was Ann's Bra Shop in Wentzville. I didn't know much about this store before visiting except for the fact that my grandmother (who doesn't wear bras that fit) said it was great and their billboards made it seem like they were geared more towards masectomy stuff and swimsiuts, so I wasn't getting my hopes up and was expecting lots of granny bras. Fortunately, it was WAY better than what I was expecting. There did seem to be a lot of "nude" white and black bras but there was definitely a good selection of colorful bras too. At this store I spent the majority of the time helping my mom, who not only has a beast shape that is extremely difficult to fit, but also HATES bra shopping, so I didn't get to look around as much as I would have liked, but I did notice that they had a very impressive size range. They had 28 bands and up to 46 at least, but I'm 99% certain they also had band sizes in the 50s, I just wasn't really looking for them. When I was helping my mom I think I saw some K cups (this was in the 34/36 band size range). It's a very large store, probably the biggest lingerie/bra shop I've ever seen, including places like Victorias secret. It was very open and bright, and everything they had was on display, not hidden in the back or in drawers. I think half of the store might have been dedicated to swimsuits, even now that it's the middle of winter, but I didn't get a chance to look through that half of the store so I'm not sure if it really was all swimsuits or what types/brands they carry. They have discount racks with some really great deals too, I ended up with a Cleo Marcie in red for $30. The staff was very friendly and while I didn't talk to them much myself they had a conversation with my aunt about how mainstream stores use incorrect measuring methods to get more people into their bras. Ann's Bra Shop also has other locations in chesterfield, Missouri and o'Fallon, Illinois. Website: http://www.brashop.com/default.aspx
Our second stop was claire de lune. This store was more focused on luxury/sexy items, though they did have a selection of basic bras in drawers next to the fitting rooms. The selection was much smaller than at the other two stores, but they sill had a wide range of sizes, I know my mom tried on a 34J there. They had some 28 bands but there wasn't really much near my cup size, they had more for me to try on in 30 bands. Now, while I did like claire de lune a lot, it was still 5x better than any lingerie stores close to me, there were two major things that I didn't like about this store. The first was that they keep their moulded cup bras folded in half with one cup folded into the other. I know some people choose to store their bras this way and that's their decision, but it ruins the integrity of the cups, giving it wrinkles and shortening it's lifespan. A store should not do that to its products, I will NOT buy a bra that has already been damaged before I've even worn it (especially for the prices they are asking). The other major problem was that the owner thinks the double lettered cup sizes in UK brands are half-sizes, so she doesn't carry them. This was really, really frustrating for me because while I can sometimes wear an F cup in 30 bands I usually need a FF, and because we found a bra for my mom that was actually really close to fitting, but the 34J was slightly too big and the 34H slightly too small. I would have loved to have had her try it on in an HH but she was tired of trying on bras and settled for the H even though it gave her quadboob because it was the closest she had gotten to having a bra that fit in over a year (my mom and I live on opposite ends of the US, if I was closer to her she'd have better bras but as it is I get one day a year to help her shop). I'd still recommend stopping by the store, they've got some beautiful stuff, the owner was friendly, and one of her employees (who unfortunately wasn't there when I visited) is an ABTF member. I'm hoping she will change her boss's mind about the double letter cups and folding the moulded bras inside out and that I'll have an even better experience next year when I get to visit again. They also have a location in Kansas City, website: http://www.clairdelunekc.com
Our third stop was sugar magnolia, and it was by far my favorite. The store is teeny-tiny but she has a crazy number of bras in the back, with sizes 28-50 AA-N. She offered to let me look through the back room myself but I just had her bring me everything she had in my size range. I must have tried on at least 20 different bras in the 28-30 F-G range, I was in HEAVEN. I've never ever had so many different bras to choose from in my size range before, and the owner apologized saying she was low on stock and usually had MORE. They had some basic bras but the store focused more on the colorful fun options. Most, if not all, of what I tried on were either curvy Kate or Freya. I also liked the shop more than the other two because it felt more fun and youthful, as a 21 (almost 22) year old I felt really comfortable there. It was cozy and cute and the owner was really cool. I bought a really beautiful silk eye mask (I was sharing a room w/my little sister who needs a really bright night light to sleep still, it was the best idea EVER) and a curvy Kate love struck plunge. Website: http://www.sugar-magnolia.com
TL;DR: Ann's Bra Shop has a great selection and very large size range, bright and open store with all the bras displayed on racks so you can get them yourself, I'd go there for every day stuff. Claire de Lune also has a large size range but smaller selection, they think double letters are half sizes so they don't carry them. They have some very beautiful bras though, I'd go there for luxury/sexy lingerie. Sugar Magnolia has the most impressive selection of bras I've ever seen in my life, and I'd go there for fun/youthful bras. Eat the ruben potato skins at the Ameristar sports bar.

Hey there, /r/StLouis..I recently visited your city for the first time.

A quick backstory here, I live in Cincinnati (and therefore hate you by default..I am sorry this is basic sportslogic) and recently visited your city for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
A good friend of mine recently moved there and is an install tech in...less than desirable parts of town. We rolled out for about a week through the hood (as he calls it "hoodstompin") doing install work and taking in the sights as we went along and time permitted.
While I was there, I saw:
The graff wall. This came about somewhat by accident. My friend had mentioned it and we are both fans. We were trying to navigate our way to the Arch (must see spot?) and randomly ran across the graff wall. Seriously, this is the coolest fucking thing I have ever seen in my entire life. So much great artwork.
Every nasty ass ghetto in Saint Louis. Here in Cincy, we have "Over The Rhine" which is supposed to/reported as being "the most dangerous neighborhood in America". Yeah. Eff that. We did installs in neighborhoods where cars would roll by with folks wearing all red, staring at us, the only white kids for probably a square mile, hard and I was legit concerned for my safety. I can walk pretty much anywhere here in Cincy, any time of the day and not really sweat too much. Not the case. I seriously felt like I was going to get shot numerous times. So...props?
The Arch. That shit was cool. I mean, if you're going to go to StL, you might as well? Ran the steps going up to it. Got on queue to ride up to the top but between a radiation scare at security (wtf?) and timing of the next ride up..it didn't work out. Nonetheless, still got a great shot of your Arch and enjoyed walking along the river.
St Peters. This is where my friend stays down there. Nice spot. Seems quiet, mostly families and normal folks. Enjoyed that a lot.
Ameristar Casino Buffet. I demanded this happen. I am a skinny kid but a secret fat ass that has spent plenty of time in Las Vegas to know that if there is a casino buffet around..you need to hit that shit up. It was ok. Food was decent..availability was kind of shitty and the price effing sucked. Still worth it though.
Clubs. The only club I went to was the Old Rock House. A few buddies were DJing there so we went down to check it out. Super cool club. We have nothing like it here. Definitely enjoyed my time although the bar staff can seriously suck a dick.
Old 5th Street. Hit this up on St. Patty's Day night. Was pretty subdued given the time but seems like a cool place.
The #1 observation I have about Saint Louis is pretty simple: Ya'll have Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too goddamn many motherfucking signs and zones. I noticed this immediately and cut up on it the entire time I was in town.
There's speed safety zones, accident avoidance zones, no parking zones, keep your cornhole tight zones. Fuck, man. More zones than any rational personal could logically keep track of. Everywhere else I've been across the country there is a highway sign like every mile..half mile maybe. Nah, son. In the 'Lou, there's a sign every goddamn hundred feet and it's fucking annoying..not to mention confusing. You don't know where you stand at any particular point in time if you are driving on the highway other than that you better go slow as shit and not do anything remotely questionable unless you want to get assraped by some podunk township cop trying to reach his "performance incentive" for the month.
I hate to be negative but that shit was ridiculous. Down on 5th street, I even saw a "Do Not Posts Signs In This Zone" Sign. What in the actual fuck is that?
All in all, I enjoyed my 5 or so days in Saint Louis and honestly, it is someplace I probably wouldn't mind living but there are some stark differences between your fair town and well..everywhere else. It was an interesting experience to say the least.
