I watch twitch online poker and it seems so many don't know this. Pennsylvania for example now has online poker ( along with few other states). Given, its not a shared player pool, its only PA players, which sucks. But its a start.
My own point here is so many think online poker is illegal! It's not, and States can write their own rules for online poker, and if they wanted all 50 states could have online poker with a natialal player pool? But they have not. So fuck them!
Demand ONLINE POKER from your State Leaders and one day we can get pokerstars and partypoker back maybe.

I'm interested in gambling but I don't have any casinos nearby. Is it legal for me to use an online gambling website?
The only information I have seen regarding this is gambling websites saying "ya its totally legal, go ahead, we are based outside of the US!", but I really don't want to break any laws (even if I don't get caught), and would love it if anybody can cut through the BS and knows the specific laws regarding this.

To summarize, I submitted an application to this company after I found them on indeed three weeks ago. The description was "online casino testing". I know no that it is not testing at all, it is gambling and they are backers for their "employees". Their whole principle includes hiring temps (need new SSNs) who will then make accounts and take advantage of signup bonuses, deposit bonuses, and promotions in various online casinos. They claim it is entirely legal. I went through all of the training today and learned more about it but before I go any further I want to do some research before I put myself at risk.
I opened a new bank account, paypal, slack, GAS (the client you have open while playing the casino games) and gmail account all of which they have the sign in information too, which has me concerned. They seem to be in depth and legit but I'm worried about potentially putting myself in a lot of risk for $1,000-2,000 over a couple weeks. The slide show in training stressed that we would never have to deposit our own money and our personal money would never be at risk. They seem to be very in depth with everything. They did list their lawyer after the section about if employees were to complete any sort of fraud.

About five years ago, I learned that Utah, as a whole, is secretly home to the worst rates in the Nation for suicide, child abuse, financial fraud and bankruptcy (1) (2). About four years ago I learned that the State's politicians refuse to allow audit's of billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars spent (or hidden away) in incredulous ways. About three years ago I learned that Utah's politicians, judges, attorneys and law schools are desperately hiding decades of insidious law fraud (and the fortunes it generates for them). As a whole, Utah's citizens are strong, brave, trusting, giving, talented and creative people. However, the collective imagination of millions Utahans also makes them vulnerable to exploitation, corruption and fraud by morally bankrupt people (and those they control). Perhaps parts of this sometimes selective, culturally rewarding but sometimes self-destructive collective imagination is why so much has been hidden here for so long?
After three and a half unpredictable years of watching and listening, in no uncertain way and with proof of everything, I can publicly share with you now that this insidious Utah law fraud began decades ago when lawmakers, who were also attorneys, for their own purposes, secretly allowed a private corporation to have a very deceptive name in providing the illusion of "State Supervision" by the "State of Utah" for Utah attorneys. Simultaneously, a second-hand consequence of this shameful deception is that there is NO official "State of Utah" department for victims of Utah's self-serving attorneys to call to for help. Today, Utah's 6,500 attorneys secretly know all of this and they are able to target innocent Utahans from all walks of life and collect one fortune after another in the process.
This is all secretly, shamefully accomplished under that decades old deception, publicly perpetuated into your home, your life and your profession, by greedy cowards under the unconscionably false banner allowed to be known as "The Utah State Bar."
It is critical to note that not only is "The Utah State Bar" a private corporation secretly allowed to pose as a "State Office," it is also funded by the same 6,500 Utah attorneys it provides the illusion of supervision for. This includes it's pay roll. In case you don't see the conflict of interest here this is the epitome of the phrase "the inmates are running the asylum". This is also why victim's complaints about Utah's 6,500 attorneys to "The Utah State Bar" are purposely dead-ended in an unpredictable nightmare for the victim.
First, the victim who dares file a complaint against a "Utah attorney" will be ignored for several months. Eventually they will be notified that complaint was "unofficial". That means the Utah attorney was simply notified of the existence of a complaint. To make the complaint "official", the victim is told they need to get the complaint notarized then refile the complaint with a different person at "The Utah State Bar". If a victim dares do that, several more months will pass before the victim is told that the attorney was notified of the "content" of the complaint (making the complaint "official" as they term it) but that if the victim wants to pursue the complaint beyond that the victim needs to find another Utah attorney to sue the original Utah attorney in another deceptive Utah courtroom. A victim who dares to do that would also be risking another unpredictable pending "legal" matter at the hands of yet another "self-supervised" attorney and that would also take several years and cost tens of thousands of dollars (all while their original legal matter was allowed to worsen in unconscionable ways). However, if that victim dares to risk all this and years later is able to fund the case going all the way to "The Utah Supreme Court" the victim should know that the Justices of "The Utah Supreme Court" have demonstrated that they too will secretly look the other way and allow the attorney to keep pursuing victims and pocketing one fortune after another in the process. It gets worse.
The following is a list of ways Utah's attorneys, judges and the rest of Utah's deceptive legal system are targeting thousands of Utah victims from all walks of life every year:

1. Because of an attorney's unique position and relationship to a "client" in Utah, the attorney can secretly groom the client in many ways to make simple cases go on for years and years at unconscionable costs. These are cases that should have been settled in a simple mediation session on Day 1. The attorneys do this with several insidious goals in mind.
2. When the person is a homeowner or a landowner, it's not uncommon to see attorney fees reach hundreds of thousands of dollars with no end in sight for years and no progress in the case. This is because the attorneys secretly know they can put a lien on the person's home or land, force the sale of it and collect on the falsely inflated amount.
3. If a "client" dies (or commits suicide) the attorneys can collect on an additional false fortune. They can do this by adding tens of thousands of dollars (or more) to the dead persons bill. The the person's surviving children and family can't do anything about it.
4. If you are aware of a case that involves a homeowner or a landowner and it's gone on for years, it's highly likely the attorneys are colluding with each other to drag the case on until the person dies (or commits suicide). In Utah, you don't have to look far to find a simple case that has been dragged on for 5-10 years or longer by the attorneys for this insidious purpose. In fact, you don't have to look far to find a Utah attorney who seems to groom "clients" to commit suicide.

In addition to the deception perpetuated under the lies of "The Utah State Bar", the justices of "The Utah Supreme Court" have demonstrated that they too are aware of these secret tactics and that they will continue to support Utah attorneys in engaging in them. (Yes I, Mike D. Jarman, a Utahan, am openly accusing "The Utah Supreme Court" of these critical deceptions.)
6. In artificially extending cases to collect unconscionable fortunes, Utah attorneys regularly collude with crooked judges, mediators, custody evaluators, the "Division of Child and Family Services", the "Office of Recovery Services", the "Utah Department of Human Services" and other services that appear to be "neutral". This is because it's simply a pay-to-play scheme. Whoever is willing to pay (or use a credit card, month-after-month, year-after-year) gets the result no matter how irrational or dangerous it seems.
7. Because Utah judges were once attorneys too and they had the same thing done for them they play along. This includes purposely giving irrational rulings in cases (and waiting months or years to do so) so that the case can be dragged on for years more with the appearance of appeals. Grooming by the attorney's plays a critical role in this too. Remember, the entire deceptive system exists to see to it that above all the attorneys can get paid for as long as possible or until the person dies or commits suicide. Remember, judges were once attorneys too and had the same thing done for them so they play along to take care of their own for reasons we can only imagine.

It's common for Utah attorneys to register a different business name to operate under every few years or to self-righteously cite "the Bar", "an oath", a "Code of Ethics" or the "direction of the Utah Supreme Court" as a way to skirt questioning them about any of this. Three main products: Daily fantasy sports or DFS, Sportsbook, iGaming
DFS is OG DraftKings. Fantasy sports are where players make fantasy teams and battle each other to win money. However, sportsbook is where the money is: betting actual money on actual sports against the house. iGaming is basically an online casino with some online games you can gamble on, in addition to the classics like blackjack and Russian roulette.
In addition to DraftKings, there’s also SBTech, the online gambling technology company that had an arranged marriage as part of the DKNG merger.
Landmark Case
In 2018, the Supreme Court knocks down the federal law prohibiting sports gambling throughout the United States. Pandora’s box is open. Each state has to decide what it wants to do with gambling on its own.
The Path to Legalization

DFS legality is more widespread
Currently, 36% of the USA population lives in a state with some form of legal gambling and 24% in a state with legal online gambling. The population living where DraftKings is live or going live is only 13% of the country. There’s a lot of ground to cover.
NJ is the posterchild for sports betting legalization at the moment, and it’s DraftKings promised land. Generating 30% of DraftKings total revenue, it is a testament to the money waiting to be made if sports betting is made fully legal.
The Risks for DraftKings
Regulation: Gambling is a money-maker, but it’s also a social disease. States will want to cash in with taxes of 6.8 to 36% but it will be a tough battle to make it happen. And that battle will unfold state by state. Just like with the marijuana industry, the fate of the market is undeniably shaped by how legalization unfolds. It could end up being a niche hobby in select states, or it could end up like gambling in the United Kingdom, where there’s a gambling shop on every corner. Or there could be a huge gambling market, but one that is monopolized by the States exclusively. If they’re going to allow gambling, why not take all the profits, right?
Competition: FanDuel and DraftKings once considered a merger before the FTC played tough. Now, together they own 95% of the DFS market in the USA with a slight majority going to DraftKings. However, there will be fierce competition as new states open up, and missteps could be stifling for either company in the early stages. The lifeblood fueling this battle? Cold hard cash burned up in advertising and incentivizing dollars. Maybe it’s not as bad as Uber since gambling has a chance at being profitable, but if you don’t like to see money burning, think twice about entering the online sports betting market over this coming decade.
Technology: The hardware of gambling is a liability. Paying for the bandwidth needed at the exact moment of a match when everybody checks their bet is expensive. Payment processing, user validation, server hosting, sports data, app store placement: these are all areas of vulnerability and cost that you can minimize but can’t eliminate. With SBTech in the fold, having complete vertical integration is the aim and strength of DraftKings.
The House Always Wins…Usually: Writing bets means risk. Thankfully, the DFS is player versus player, so DraftKings always wins, taking something like EDIT: up to 15% of what players put in. It's a bookkeeper's wet dream. But Sportsbook and iGaming have classic gambling risks which should be fine over the long-term.
The Good Side (and Oh God They’re Beautiful)
Growth Potential: It’s a technology stock. The PE Ratio is over 600. When you buy DraftKings, you’re buying the dream of an America where gambling is as American as the Ford F150. A matured Sportsbook market in the USA would be around $20 billion, about $85 per adult. It’s a beautiful untapped (and non-existent) market with lots of money waiting to be taken. COVID19: The only thing that can stop a sports betting company from making money is getting rid of sports. Thankfully, new sports like Table Tennis, eSports, and a host of other betting topics have allowed DraftKings to get by. With lots of cash on hand ($450 million plus) and a monthly burn of $15 million, there’s enough to weather the storm. And if sports reopen with empty stadiums, fans may turn to online gambling to get their authentic sport experience.
Turnaround Time: The largest expense that DraftKings has is conquering new markets. Every time a state opens up, it’s a massive investment. That’s why analysts and executives don’t think DraftKings will run net positive for years to come. However, DraftKings experience in New Jersey has shown an average turnaround time of about two years is all it takes to recoup their initial investment when entering a new market. Some pretty tasty data to have coming in.
The Numbers
Revenue was up to $323 million in 2019 from $226 million and $191 million the years prior. NJ made up $86 million of that, growing by 8.5x after sports betting legalization in late 2018 to make up over a quarter of revenue in 2019.
Net loss however was $146 million in 2019 from $76 million and $73 million the years prior. Cost of Revenue was $103 million, Sales and Marketing was $185 million, Product and Tech was $55 million, and General and Administrative was $124 million of that. DraftKings has never been in the green. They attribute the accelerated burn in 2019 to growth in new markets so whether its aggressive or reckless is up to you. To be fair, if you’re investing in this stock, you should be expecting them to burn every single dollar they get at this point.
Average monthly unique players was up to 684k in 2019 from 601k and 574k with the average revenue per monthly unique player up to $39 from $31 and $28. As of March 31st 2020, there were 720k monthly unique players with average revenue of $41 per. So continued growths in the midst of the early Coronavirus pandemic. Q2 will be revealing for certain.
The stock just skyrocketed to $34+ yesterday meaning a market cap of over $10 billion and a PE ratio of over 600. Take it for what it’s worth to you.
Some Quirks
DraftKings revenue is seasonal. Q4 is the best when the NFL and NBA coincide, with Q3 and Q1 being roughly equivalent, and Q2 basically being garbage. With COVID mainly taking out Q2, perhaps there’s hope for sports by Q3 and Q4 to hit those high-earning months?
Controlled Structure: You get 1 vote for 1 stock, but CEO and Founder Jason Robins gets 10 votes for each stock. So whatever you do, he has 90% of the voting power. Good for long-term growth in a highly reactive landscape, but being powerless is never a fun feeling.
SBTech offers B2B solutions for other gambling companies looking to offer online sports betting and iGaming, so there’s that added benefit. In fact, the share of B2B has been growing from 1% in 2018 to 5% in 2019, so some diversification is happening.

About five years ago, I learned that Utah, as a whole, is secretly home to the worst rates in the Nation for suicide, child abuse, financial fraud and bankruptcy (1) (2). About four years ago I learned that the State's politicians refuse to allow audit's of billions upon billions of taxpayer dollars spent (or hidden away) in incredulous ways. About three years ago I learned that Utah's politicians, judges, attorneys and law schools are desperately hiding decades of insidious law fraud (and the fortunes it generates for them). As a whole, Utah's citizens are strong, brave, trusting, giving, talented and creative people. However, the collective imagination of millions Utahans also makes them vulnerable to exploitation, corruption and fraud by morally bankrupt people (and those they control). Perhaps parts of this sometimes selective, culturally rewarding but sometimes self-destructive collective imagination is why so much has been hidden here for so long?
After three and a half unpredictable years of watching and listening, in no uncertain way and with proof of everything, I can publicly share with you now that this insidious Utah law fraud began decades ago when lawmakers, who were also attorneys, for their own purposes, secretly allowed a private corporation to have a very deceptive name in providing the illusion of "State Supervision" by the "State of Utah" for Utah attorneys. Simultaneously, a second-hand consequence of this shameful deception is that there is NO official "State of Utah" department for victims of Utah's self-serving attorneys to call to for help. It is critical to note that not only is "The Utah State Bar" a private corporation secretly allowed to pose as a "State Office," it is also funded by the same 6,500 Utah attorneys it provides the illusion of supervision for. This includes it's pay roll. In case you don't see the conflict of interest here this is the epitome of the phrase "the inmates are running the asylum". First, the victim who dares file a complaint against a "Utah attorney" will be ignored for several months. Eventually they will be notified that complaint was "unofficial". That means the Utah attorney was simply notified of the existence of a complaint. To make the complaint "official", the victim is told they need to get the complaint notarized then refile the complaint with a different person at "The Utah State Bar". If a victim dares do that, several more months will pass before the victim is told that the attorney was notified of the "content" of the complaint (making the complaint "official" as they term it) but that if the victim wants to pursue the complaint beyond that the victim needs to find another Utah attorney to sue the original Utah attorney in another deceptive Utah courtroom. Perhaps this is because once this is exposed the State of Utah is likely to be on the hook for untold fortunes in damages and losses to hundreds of thousands of Utah victims (and their surviving children and families over the past several decades? (It has to do with the State of Utah simultaneously creating and breaking a critical fiduciary duty to the State's citizens.)

Perhaps five years ought to be long enough? Even worse, the integrity of "Utah Law" has been further compromised by Utah being the first state to waive the (now token) "Bar Exam" for attorneys.

[USA] So I’ve been given an interesting opportunity. Just for a little bit of background info, I’ve been trading in the stock market for my own personal gain for a while now and have a decent track record. Nothing insane (or as risky) as what you see on /wallstreetbets, but consistently profiting via day trading and short-term momentum swings.
I trade in an online options trading community, and someone has approached me with a desire to grant me power of attorney for their account. We have had video calls, I can verify the person is in fact who they say they are, as they have quite a social media presence. They have specifically requested me to trade options (my primary instrument), with an account balance of $350,000. This individual is a business owner (owns a gambling company) with a net worth in the 7 figures. They proposed a % split of profits that they will send via bank wire or bitcoin and said they’re okay with signing a form that essentially says “I, __, hereby acknowledge and understand the risks of options trading and I won’t pursue @ilovetablesandchairs for any damages.” FWIW I live in the USA and they live in Asia.
Here’s what my interpretation is of the law: with power of attorney, I’m legally allowed to manage the account provided I’m investing in a ‘safe’ manner. Despite options being an inherently risky investment, I play small position sizes on high probably breaks of support and resistance and take profits every 10% (if that made sense to you, then you understand just how conservative that is.) They have requested even more risk - remember, they own a gambling company - to quote them, "my appetite for risk is considerable." They have also said "If the account goes to 0, I'm no worse off. Trade as if it were your own account & do what you're good at, I have full faith in your ability."
If I’m wrong with my interpretation of power of attorney in regards to brokerage accounts and active trading, the fun ends here.
If I’m correct in my understanding of power of attorney, the next issues are me being paid and my liability for losses. Starting with the latter, is the other party acknowledging the risks of the account and stating it’s “throwaway” money enough to cover me in the case of an unexpected market downturn? In regards to getting paid, I understand I need a series 7 to be a licensed financial advisor in the states if I’m soliciting outside investors and receiving compensation. Seeing as this is a friend I believe I’m exempt. Will I be fine getting paid a % of realized profits at the end of each month (with taxes paid).
I'd appreciate any advice on the matter, strictly related to the legality & not the inherent risk involved - for that I am well aware.
