2019 Collection Finally posting my collection. I started collecting/flipping heavily in 2014 when I turned 40. I bought my first automatic watch for my 40th. nothing too special, it was a Deep Blue Sun Diver iii , 1,000M Diver, it had a white dial and Orange bezel. this watch gave me my love for Dive Watches, and ever since ive been pretty much buying/trading Divers exclusively. since 2014, ive owned over 150 watches, with maybe 140 of them being divers. I know some might say i need to have a more diverse collection, but I dont care, divers are my thing, and thats what I like. this collection has changed many times over the years, but for now this is what I have. TOP LEFT TO RIGHT. SEIKO SSC021: this is my 5th SSC watch, I love them and this is my summer weekend beater and yard work watch. the rubber Seio dive strap (Z20) has finally started cracking and drying out from all the sun and sweat it has endured, so it is now on a Wine colored Maratac single pass Zulu strap. CITIZEN BNO-151 ECO-DRIVE DIVER: Ahh, one of my favorite grab and go quartz watches! this is my 4th BNO-151, this watch looks great and wears well too! I love the eco-drive movement, that means I dont have to break the water tight seal to change batteries. at least for many years. the fact that this looks more expensive than it is, and is pretty cheap to get is a huge plus! I have this on an aftermarket Oyster bracelet, and i think it makes it look even better. CASIO AMW-330: this is a true cheap beater! i think i got it new on ebay for $80. I really love the vintage look of the case and bezel. the chrono is nice too and works perfectly. the white dial and applied indicies give it a lot of shine and sparkle in the sun. I have this on the Aevig rubber dive strap right now. SEIKO SKX009: What else is left to say about the mighty SKX that hasnt already been said? I love this guy, this is my 4th or 5th SKX009, this one was made in 2018, it keeps remarkably accurate time for a 7s26 movement, and I just love the case design and shape. Also, the Seiko Jubilee may be cheap, but its one of my favorite bracelets. MAGRETTE MOANA PACIFIC DIVER 2 LIMITED EDITION: Magrette make a seriously cool and bad ass watch! This MPD2 is the 10th anniversary limited edition, and has the decorated Swiss STP1-11 automatic movment, and is WR to 500M. This is my second Magrette, i also had the limited edition Moana Pacific Professional Black, but found that it was just too big at 44mm / 24mm lugs. This MPD2 is a much more wearable 42mm with 22mm lugs. I have it on the Magrette chocolate leather strap with machined Magrette buckle and quick release spring bars. BOTTOM ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: SEIKO 6309-8230: this was a feebe add on to a watch trade i did, the guy i got it from said its one of those ebay india seikos that are redialed and cheap as hell. this automatic watch still works, and is on a black and green leather strap. I dont wear it but for some reason i still have it. one cool thing is that green band around the dial is fully lumed, so it has a very unique look to it at night. OMEGA SEAMASTER PROFESSIONAL 300 CERAMIC: This watch needs no intro! this was originally purchased new in Nov 2018, I bought it from a known online dealer at WUS in June of 2019 for my 45th birthday. its in near perfect condition and Omega caliber 2500D keeps time to +- 1spd when worn consistently. It's very beautiful and shiny, and even though the bracelet doesnt taper, its extremely comfortable to wear. The lacquer dial is one of the deepest blacks ive ever seen on a watch. SCURFA DIVER-ONE D1-500: Scurfa is a lesser known dive watch micro brand, Paul Scurfield is a professional deep sea saturation diver living in the UK. he started designing dive watches for himself and his crew to use while living for weeks at a time in Saturation diving chambers in the depths of the North Sea where he does his work. His watches are durable, fully functional and verified working at depth by him and his crew, and very affordable! this is my 3rd Scrufa, I used to own a Diver-One NATO PVD, and now i have 2 of these D1-500's, one for me and i bought one for my wife. 500M water resist, Heliox escape valve, 40mm oyster style case, beautiful double domed sapphire crystal with Blue AR coating. and a upgraded Swiss made Rhonda 715SM 5 jewel gold plated movement with longer life and EOL indicator. Mine is on an Armida branded CUDA strap. GLYCINE COMBAT SUB GL0078: this is my 3rd Combat sub, and favorite one so far! I had a Golden Eye, and a GL0088. this one i call my baby Breitling, as it kind of resembles a SuperOcean. anyway, i love it, it has shine, and color, and a big personality. runs a Swiss ETA 2824-2, and is very comfortable on its stock oyster bracelet. AEVIG HULDRA V2: This bad boy, i pre ordered back in July i think. I just got it a couple weeks ago. it has been my favorite recently. the retro inspired case and solid link Jubilee bracelet look amazinf and its very comfortable to wear! Im in love with the dial, I just love the applied Hexagon and triangle hour markers, and the twisted Hex Aevig logo as the 12:00 marker. it 200M WR, and runs a Miyota 9015 automatic movement. the bezel is fully lumed, and is covered in vintage style acrylic. HELM VANUATU V4: This is my second Helm Vanuatu, I had a V2 a few years back. This watch is a tank! its big and bold, and tough as hell . However, it still wears reasonably on my 7inch wrist, and has enough class for me to wear to work. I love everything about this guy, the case design is nice and bold, the dial and hands are very unique, and the bezel is a joy to turn. even the large engineer style bracelet is very comfortable to wear and supports the weight of the watch nicely. this runs a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, and is WR to 300M (tested to 375M) as this wasth is ISO certified and has the individual testing card. One of the best bang for the buck dive watches out there, if you can get one. each batch sells out so fast Ive had to buy both of mine on the used market. for under $300, its hard to beat. thank you all for looking and letting me share my obsession with Dive Watches. I walked into my local watch repair shop and asked him if he sold any Seiko automatic watches. He showed me this one and a another Seiko 5 "gold" one. He said this one was worth $300 and was special. He said he would sell it to me for $70 but I had to buy a strap from him. I posted a picture of this watch on the subreddit seiko and realized it was a decently rare piece with original crown and case. Next day bought it. The guy was kinda grumpy because originally I asked him to keep it aside for a week but then AGAIN went to the shop and said to not.(Mom didn't want to buy me a watch then lol) This was my first Automatic watch! Watch 2: HMT Kohinoor Two years ago was interested in indian watches and asked my mom to get me this when she visited india. It cost her around 1000 rupees(approx $15). It's a cool watch and my first Mechanical(Hand wound)! Watch 3: Ah, Casio watches. I originally got into watches due to my dad's old Solar G-Shock in 2004ish. I got back into watches recently and got my first "own" G-Shock back in 2012. From there on, intrigued by the solar powered watch brought me to mechanical watches! Watch 4: Fortis Trueline Last summer, when I visited India my grandma gave me this watch on behalf of my grandpa(he passed away before I was born) The original strap was a weird seiko strap. Onebagger Report: Review of gear used during 7 months of travel
This past spring my girlfriend and I began a 7 month-long trip around the world, both of us onebagging it. I was into onebag travel for about 6 years and convinced her of the appeal a year or two prior to this trip. For context, the trip was April in Spain, May in Central Europe, June & early July in Peru, July&August in Argentina, late August in Japan, September in New Zealand and October in India. Locations were chosen based on our interest, and we aimed to hit shoulder seasons to avoid lots of tourists, but during good weather if possible. Europe and Peru were quite cool, and mostly dry. Argentina was nice and temperate, Japan was incredibly hot, New Zealand was cool and with light rain, and India was hot and dry. TL;DR We avoided cold snowy winters and extended rain, but otherwise encountered a wide variety of weather. As for gear, I did a lot of research beforehand, but the reality is that you pick up a lot of stuff on the trip and have to be flexible. IMO getting exactly the right gear isn't worth the obsession and headache you frequently see on this subreddit, although some gear is head-and-shoulders above its peers. Bags
Tortuga Outbreak 35L backpack - The bag is stylish and inconspicuous and very durable. 35L was plenty big for me, and consider that in Asia most airlines have 7kg weight limits, which even 35L will exceed when fully packed. The volume works on most airlines, and was designed with airline limits in mind (I guess it won't work for Ryanair anymore). I like the overall layout, but there's simply way too many pouches and pockets, particularly in the front. IMO half could be removed and considerably simplify the design. Particularly if you have packing cubes or something, it's a PITA to find small items.
Standard Luggage Packing Cube Backpack - I love this bag. Sturdy, sized perfectly for laptops, only 3 pouches. It's reasonably stylish and has broad webbing straps that won't cut into your shoulders. The boxy design maximizes space and means you can use it as a packing cube. I previously had one of the tiny packable Sea-to-Summit daypacks, which is OK but uncomfortable. Consider: you will likely be using a daypack every single day (to carry water, books, battery, snacks, etc), it will appear in photos others take of you. It's worth getting the right one.
Small orange drybag. I didn't take any packing cubes proper; a drybag is waterproof (more versatile) and you can squeeze out air. Recommended.
Electronics
Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon - A very nice laptop. My number one criteria was a good keyboard, and the Lenovo is pretty usable. It's fast, durable, and has lots of ports. I got a good deal during black friday sales. If you buy, use the corporate login on the Lenovo page (you don't need to be a company). See thinkpad for details.
3X Sandisk 128GB Ultrafit USB drives - these are the best USB drives I've used. Small but not fiddly, cheap, tons of space. I started with 4 and gave one to a friend.
Nexus 5X - I've had one for 3 years. Well... I've had one each year that died due to OS updates, and got a free one under the warranty. This held up. It's a good phone with a nice camera, and you don't really need more than that.
Anker Second Gen Astro E5, 16750 mAh - Don't underestimate a good battery pack. Useful for charging camera and phone during the day. This thing charges a phone completely, 4 times, but it's very heavy. I think newer ones are lighter. The comfort of knowing that I wouldn't run out of charge was wonderful, particularly when doing a lot of navigation by maps on phone.
Sony RX100 V w/spare battery, Sandisk 128GB microSD + adapter - I wanted a small camera, durable, with good image quality and with a viewfinder. The Sony fit all the criteria, but it is expensive (and heavy). I would not have bought the extra battery had I realized the generic battery pack was enough. I didn't end up using it. The 128GB USB was huge, I only wiped it twice during the trip and I was taking quite a few pictures, even some RAW+JPG.
2x 32 GB SD cards - some old cards as backups. I never ended up using these and should not have taken them. 128GB was plenty of camera space for me.
LG G5 Friends 360 degree camera - I hadn't used a 360 degree camera before the trip, but had done a few photospheres in Google Photos. It's a lifesaver. There's so many places where you can't really capture the appeal with a photo. For example, courtyards with a palace, or a pinnacle with sights on both sides. 3 seconds with a 360 degree camera and you've captured a memory. My only regret is not using this thing more. Had I known the utility of a 360 degree camera I would probably have opted for better quality, but this was a good compromise on price. There's an app that's pretty janky, the only feature I would have liked would have been an automatic 2-second delay so I could put the camera down for photos.
Monoprice 3 foot HDMI cable - most hotels, and many AirBnBs, have TVs. But you may have your own videos or netflix. Having an HDMI cable is a nice luxury for better display and they don't take up much space.
I/O Magic universal travel adapter - I got this free. It's a travel adapter, works everywhere, and has USB ports. There are probably better ones, but do you need them?
YoJock adapter - stupid name, but I love this thing. Tiny wall adapter with USB A and C ports. Powerful enough to charge the Thinkpad.
Dodocool bluetooth speaker - this is the speaker you want. It's tiny, has great sound, good charge, no pain bluetooth connections and it's $12. The only thing I'd prefer is USB C charging. Like HDMI, having one of these speakers is a nice luxury if you want to listen to some music in your room and hate your phone speakers.
USB dimmable lightbulb - OK, so a ton of budget AirBnBs only have an overhead light. Which sucks for ambiance, and which you have to get up to turn on or off. I don't know why they don't add a $5 bedside lamp, but whatever. Solution - plug one of these things into the battery pack, and you have an OK ambient light. I added this halfway through the trip and used it a bit, but it's mostly a convenience.
2x Koss KSC32i B Sport Clip Headphones, blue - Comfortable clip earbuds suitable for exercise, tolerate a lot of sweat, and they're cheap. Inevitably earbud cords bust for me (usually after 6 months), and I live in paranoia of not having headphones, so I packed two.
Cords: 1x small USB A-to-C, 1x long USB A-to-C, 1x superlong USB C-to-C, 1x short USB A-to-micro, 1x long USB A-to-micro. The pain of having multiple ports. You need USB A on one side for flights, etc. USB C-to-C is great for phone and laptop with the YoJock adapter. Cords take up little space, and having two of each connector type mean you don't have to stress if you lose one. the short cords are perfect for charging from battery pack in your backpack. Long cords are nice because you can lay devices on a table when charging from an outlet.
Kindle paperwhite - I love this thing, but don't have a standard of comparison for ebooks. During the trip I read about 50 books on this thing and used it nearly every day. Well worth it.
Clothing
Patagonia down jacket - I'm not sure which one exactly, this was a gift and the tags are worn out. Any light down jacket with enough pocket space is a good option. There are a lot out there, and IMO pocket space (for camera if you don't want a full daypack) is well worth the space requirements.
Uniqlo Blocktech Parka - It's OK but not really suitable for onebagging. The hood is a little floppy and the jacket is bulky, but it does look good and is reasonably waterproof.
Nike Free Rn Flyknit, black+white - These shoes are great. Comfortable, reasonably sturdy, they look good with a lot of different clothes. I preferred the older style from 2016 or so, which they don't appear to make anymore, but the new ones are OK. I wanted shoes I could wear to hike, run, or go to a nice European restaurant, and these are the only ones that fit the bill.
Cheap blue baseball cap - I rarely wear a hat when not traveling, but it's nice if you're gonna be doing a lot of hiking, or spending time in dry sunny areas like Northwest India or Southern Spain.
Random street sunglasses - Bought in Santiago, I think. Same as umbrellas, it's easy to lose, sit on, scrape, or otherwise mishandle sunglasses. Do not buy cheap sunglasses with reflectivity as it will scrape off and be unusable. Otherwise, buy sunglasses for <$5 on the street.
Merino wool buff - I love buffs, they're a onebag superstar. Works as beanie, scarf, facemask; looks good, durable and not too expensive.
Cheap beanie - bought for $2 in Peru by the girlfriend, then given to me. Unnecessary but I never threw it out.
3x ExOfficio boxer brief - these are durable and very comfortable, but also bulky (for underwear) and expensive. I always preferred wearing these but can't really endorse them.
2x Uniqlo Airism boxer briefs - these are durable, slim and cheap, but not that comfortable - they ride up a bit. Maybe I couldn't get the sizing right for my weird frame. They also look substantially better than ExOfficio if that matters :).
2x black Darn Tough no-show ultralight cushion socks - comfortable, durable, lifetime warranty. I love these socks, but they are a little thick, especially compared with the Smartwool below. It's also nice that black is easy to match with the Nikes to be truly no-show.
1x Smartwool Men’s Phd Run Ultra Light wool socks - got these as a promotion at a run in NZ. They are very slim, wear more comfortably than the Darn Tough, and are suitable for onebagging, but there is no warranty. I think overall they are better onebag socks, but less good if you wear the same socks onebagging as in daily life.
1x Darn Tough boot-length socks - I wasn't sure whether to pack these, and I think in the end the space would have been better served with another pair of no-show socks. If you're not wearing boots and don't get too cold easily, these are not very flexible - you cannot wear with shorts, they're kinda ugly, and they're thick.
3x Woolly merino v-neck shirts, blue, green and black - Got these cheap on ebay. They were fine, but the blue and green faded substantially in the sun (the black did not). They're also just a little too thin for my tastes. I would not buy these again but they were a good value.
1x Top Drawer merino grey shirt - A NZ merino wool brand. Very good construction, good cut, good sizing (for me), but it was expensive. I would probably buy at least one more of these if I had the opportunity.
1x minus33 wool grey crew neck sweatshirt - A very slim sweatshirt, suitable for cool temperatures and good for layering with a jacket. Overall I could not get the sizing right for this as a slightly chunky medium-sized dude, and always felt this just was not flattering. I think the construction was good and would look for options from this brand that I could try on prior to purchase.
Running shorts - I really have had difficulty finding shorts that are not too short, with an internal liner (to avoid wearing underwear and to use for swimming). That said, running shorts are generally comfortable and serve as PJs if you can find a good pair.
Outlier New Way shorts, khaki - I love these shorts. Incredibly durable, pretty comfortable with a above-the-knee length, they look good. Theoretically you can swim in them. I've stained them and it just washed right out. Of course, they're expensive, but I think getting good pants/shorts is important given the amount of wear each pair will get during your travels.
Prana Brion, dark khaki - I wore these more than any other clothing item on the trip. It was excellent. Light, thin, pretty cheap, comfortable, and they look inoffensive anywhere (museum, restaurant, hiking, on the streets). They don't scream "tourist" except in areas where everyone wheres blue jeans. These got very dirty or stained at times and it always washed out. Very quick dry.
Other stuff
Small generic umbrella - Bought used in Japan, I think a small folding umbrella is worth carrying around. Given that I constantly lose/break these, and I don't think there are sturdy tiny umbrellas, just getting a $3 option is fine.
Ikea small tupperware container w/contact lenses - If you wear contacts you'll need to carry them along, a major headache. Given the foil lids I didn't want the cases to wear, so I needed a hardshell container. The Ikea tupperware works great for this. It's just one of a set of 20+ boxes and lids.
Contact case + solution
Zenni Optical Eyeglasses - if you haven't used Zenni Optical, you should. You can get stylish, fully loaded (glare resistant, etc) sunglasses for $35, and there are cheaper options.
Toiletries - toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, small pouch
Beard trimmer - I started with a Whal 9962. I really liked this - it was small, ran on generic batteries, had plenty of horsepower, had a length guide. Unfortunately, kept in a bag with contact solution and toothpaste, it eventually rusted and then stopped working. I replaced it with a cigar-style trimmer in Japan, but that was super-weak and very difficult to use. If I did another trip, I would buy another Wahl and treat it more carefully.
Small deck of cards - A nice size, but we never ended up using these, in spite of playing board games in the US. Traveling doesn't leave much free time with tablespace available.
Pack o Game: GEM - A tiny boardgame, well-designed, but as with the cards, we never used these. I would not pack boardgames in the future.
Casio Pathfinder Watch - A fancy outdoorsy watch gifted to me by the girlfriend. The band ended up giving me a rash but I like the watch. It is not something I would pack again, because it is large and obvious in poorer countries where you don't want to stand out as a tourist. But it's nice in the US and I'm hoping to replace the band.
2x field notes notebooks - Also a gift from the girlfriend. I really like the design of these, and the size is great, but they're pretty expensive. I wouldn't buy them but they are nice as a present!

Packs of tissues - those little rectangular packs you can find in pharmacies. A few will do. Good if sick, if you need a napkin, or as toilet paper in public restrooms (particularly important in India).
Ziploc bags - good as waterproofing, for organizing and securing supplies, etc. They're so small and useful.
Spork - Really useful as a tool in a daypack. This one had a dull knife on the handle. In Europe we usually would stop at a supermarket for cheap snacks, and a spork allows you to easily buy and eat yogurt, hummus, brie, pasta salads, etc.
Pills - traveler’s diarrhea, malaria, ibuprofin, altitude sickness - Check with your doctor for what you need. Pills will take up space, particularly in the original container. You will likely need ibuprofin or aspirin at some point since traveling can be stressful. Prices vary wildly around the world.
Wallet with Chase Sapphire Preferred, Charles Schwab debit card, driver’s license, backups - Chse Sapphire Preferred is probably the best bang-for-your-buck airline miles card, with free car insurance for rentals and no exchange fees. Charles Schwab bank accounts can access any ATM and get withdrawal fee reimbursements, also without exchange fees. I traveled with a few backups buried in my bag in case the wallet was lost or stolen, as well as scans of all important documents.
Passport, Yellow Fever paperwork, International Driver’s License - I didn't end up using the Yellow Fever paperwork (we dropped Ecuador from the trip and no customs asked to see it), and the same with the IDL. As an American I drove in Slovenia and New Zealand and neither rental agency required the IDL.
That's it! We accumulated a lot of cruft - small souvenirs, coins, ticket stubs, and so forth, which are not listed here, but this is stuff I considered "core gear" during the trip. From the inspiration albums that echoshield, I've been seeing a tentative interest in clean-looking, simple rugged watches. This is something I've been researching for myself, so I decided to put together a little inspiration thread of affordable watches. This will include both quartz watches (replace the battery), and automatics (fully springs and gears, recharges with the movement of your wrist). Please add your current watch / cool inspo watches! This is by no means exhaustive, but heavily based on my personal tastes and you should head over to /watches for the whole rundown. <$100:
Casio. My current everyday watch is currently <$20 on amazon. You definitely get what you pay for in terms of materials and finish, but it's surprisingly rugged. I submerse it in saltwater at least several times a week, and generally beat the living crap out of it. There's a busier-looking world time version as well, and artofsushi wears a solar version that I can't find right now. Keep in mind these watches are sized pretty small, so if you have Arnie wrists you may want something bulkier to match your physique.
G-Shock is a Casio line, usually thought of as massive/bulky/unsightly. However they have one manageable model which is based on the silver digital casio above. Wears a decent size, stupidly rugged.
Timex. The weekender is /malefashionadvice's go-to suggestion, and it's pretty solid. swap out the band for a leathenylon monochrome and you have a pretty decent watch. Cons: the lume leaves a lot to be desired, and the ticking is LOUD (belongs in the bottom of the sock drawer at night). I've found it a bit less durable than my Casio from personal experience, but that involved a 5-foot drop on concrete. An alternative to the weekender is the Easy Reader which eschews the military watch-inspired 24h markings for a cleaner, almost grandpa-look.
Seiko. This is probably the best value you'll get under $100. The Seiko 5 line has the most diverse, cheapest automatic watches you can get your grubby paws on. Here are two of my favorites. While these watches don't need any hand-winding or batteries, they will stop when their spring runs out (usually a 40 hour reserve). So if you wear them every other day, you will most likely be fine, but any more and you'll have to reset the time. Part of the cost of owning a badass complicated watch!
HMT might be your go-to for funky retro, super cheap dress watches. generally ships from India on ebay. Some cool ones, but might look a bit grandpa after a while.

Citizen - their Eco-Drive line starts around here. They are quartz, but the face has an embedded solar panel so it'll never need a battery change. They go from sleek to way too much clutter to Just right (IMO).
Orient is probably my favorite in this bracket. I've personally owned the Black Mako and found it to be a fantastic diver for the price. It has scuba dived with me to 90 feet, and finally broke down as a result of my own stupidity. One of my current attainable grail watches is the Orient Bambino, which has this fantastic review from W&W. Other models to check out are the Orient Ray, esteem, symphony…
Seiko comes up here again. The SKX007 is the standard for mass-produced dive watches. at under $170, it's a Rolex-influenced diver that will take a serious beating. The 009 is similar with the "pepsi bezel". The Seiko Monster is probably the next most popular Seiko in this proce range, with the Orange Monster specifically as a /watches favorite (though I don't really know why).
Rodina Bauhaus This is the most similar to the current fad of MVMT/Cadence watches, but really the cheapest minimalist watc you should consider buying. In White, and also in blue, black. Automatic movement, design copied off of some ridiculously expensive european watches. /watches is polarized on it - half of the members refuse to touch it because they consider it a fake/ripoff, while hte other half acknowledges that this design has been bounced around a dozen manufacturers for the past 50 years and it's nothing new to copy.
Again, this is most of the watches on my mind that seem applicable to the aesthetics I've seen displayed on this sub. Excuse the cell phone pic I recently got into watches after buying the infamous gateway watch, the Seiko 5 SNK809. The stock band was boring so I got a leather NATO strap for $15. This is the most expensive of my 4 at $65. After that I got the itch to try my hand at modding. I didn't want to risk ruining the Seiko so I opted for a cheap Chinese automatic to see if I could be delicate enough to pull off modding. I thought to go for a Submariner type watch so that if I didn't FUBAR it, I could maybe wear it occasionally . I found this "Soki" branded watch on eBay for $12.79 and 15-20 working days later, it was on my doorstep. I also picked a black on black 20mm NATO because it was $2.99 and WUS said the bracelet was dreadful. I quickly got to work on modding by very gently scuffing the chrome plated brass case to simulate a brushed stainless look. It may not be perfect but it's better than the super bright chrome. I finally mustered up the courage to open it up and it was stress free from then. I used some Goo-Gone to wipe away the brand lettering except for "Automatic" above the 6 o'clock marker. At a whopping $15.78, I call this one the eBay special. On the right my HMT Jawan re-dial is loudly ticking along. It's a manual winding movement that I've heard to be a clone of older Citizen/Miyota movements. Also from eBay this ODB was $10.50 shipped from India. First on the left is my newest watch and the only non mechanical in my collection. It's a Timex T2N393 on a bracelet from an old broken Casio A158W. I've heard these go for nearly $100 but mine was $7.50 on clearance from a local outlet mall. I adore the 70s styling on this thing and all the markings on it and such. Thanks for reading!

Hi. I'm from India and I'm new to mechanical watches. The first mechanical watch that caught my eye was Tom Cruise's IWC Mark XVI in "Vanilla Sky" back in 2001. That's when I realized that I like clean and functional designs. I've been wearing a Casio G-Shock since 2008. It's worked well for me, especially since I used to work as a production assistant on movie sets in L.A. Now I wanna buy my first mechanical (automatic) watch and after a lotta research, I've decided that Seiko 5 is the best place to start. Trouble is watch stores in India, especially the ones here in Mumbai, don't carry a lotta Seiko 5 models. Some don't have more than five or six models, others maybe just one or two. The one I initially wanted was SRP415: http://s6.postimg.org/n3ynh5dxt/SRP415.jpg It's the "50th Anniversary" model. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. But it wasn't available at any of the stores I visited and I don't wanna buy it from SkyWatches.com.sg (where it's selling for $183) because (1) they don't ship to India, and (2) even if they did, the customs and taxes I'd have to pay would be too much. The weird thing is, I can't find any information on this model online, at least not on any English-language websites. Should I be worried? Are Seiko 5 models named differently in different parts of the world? Are some models exclusive to certain regions? It costs INR 11,500 ($182) here. So I wanna be 100% sure before I buy it.
